Data Migration
Due to events such as major application updates, software vendor changes, mergers and acquisitions and system consolidations, there are times when large amounts of data need to move from one system to another.
There are many data aspects to consider during these migration efforts such as: Relevance, Quantity, Quality and Methodology.

Data migrations are required for many reasons: Application upgrades, application vendor changes, application consolidation, mergers and acquisitions, etc. It is common to look at these data migrations as throw away efforts, but they don't have to be. Data migration can be implemented in parallel with other system requirements and/or assessments.
Not only is data migration the perfect time for a Data Quality Assessment, but it can also be a good time for a possible data archiving initiative. It also presents an opportunity to work with the Data Integration teams to reuse their efforts to bring data into the new environment. Data migrations typically run in parallel with application development.

Why Skura?
- We have migrated data from a multitude of source systems such as Dendrite, legacy Oracle Siebel applications, home-grown applications using Microsoft® Access or Excel sheets or other various databases such as SQL Server. We have worked with third-party vendors such as Beghou, StayInFront and others to bring previously contracted systems in-house.
- We use the best tools available in order to optimize our efforts and lay a clean data foundation for your new environment. From Informatica to Oracle Data Warehouse Builder, from Oracle Siebel’s EIM tool to our very own EAI tool: the Skura Interface Manager (SIM).
-
Our vast industry experience has given us insight into many of the common pitfalls that come with migrating your data. We are very familiar with the various data partners and common source systems in the industry, and we thoroughly understand how that data is actually used.
