Our Culture
A few decades ago, the term corporate culture was an oxymoron; three piece suits, white shirts, a red power tie. Then, there was the dawning of the Age of Digital Business Unreason; businesses with astounding market caps and no revenue. Casual cool was the dress code and the attitude. Pinball games, pool tables, and latté machines fulfilled furniture needs.
In between the extremes, Skura laid out a new doctrine. Work should be enjoyable and fun. It should provide opportunities for intellectual, as well as career development. People should be able to enjoy camaraderie and good company while they work. Staff should look forward to the possibility of financial and material progress as well. Responsible people know how to combine fun with...well...responsibility. In fact, we all have a sense of humour, take the time to review the weekend, and have a chat in the lunchroom. We also have a great deal of fun getting the job done, and we do get the job done.
So at Skura, while we are busy getting that job done, we also talk current events, discuss books, meet that budget, solve the problems of the world, hit that deadline, exercise our bragging rights for having won the company soccer game, and remember that 'bottom line' isn't just a cliché.
